Regional Partnership Initiative Grants
As the Indiana Arts Commission's Regional Partner for Gibson, Knox, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick Counties (Region 10), the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana is the administrator for state art funds in this part of the state. Indiana's fiscal year is July 1 - June 30. In November - December each year, the Arts Council prints and distributes guidelines for grant applications. Those guidelines are also available on-line on this web site. Dead-lines for applications are announced when guidelines are published, but are generally in late winter. The next deadline for applying for an Arts Council grant is March 27, 2008. Recipients and grant amounts are announced in June for the upcoming fiscal year.
To obtain a copy of the guidelines and application form for the 2008-2009 fiscal year, click here or call the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana, 812-422-2111. Applications must be submitted to the Arts Council office in paper form, not electronic versions.

ELIGIBILITY
Organizations must meet four basic requirements to apply:
- Must be either an Indiana public agency (part of city, county, or state government) OR a private, nonprofit, tax-exempt agency OR is a part of a larger Indiana public agency or tax-exempt nonprofit organization and has a separately identifiable organizational structure, governing body, and financial reporting system.
- Private nonprofit organizations must be incorporated in the state of Indiana at the time of application, and have received recognition of tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). In some cases, an eligible tax-exempt organization may act as a fiscal sponsor for an organization that has not yet secured federal tax-exempt status. (See Arts Project Support, page 16. Also see Appendix E and F for more information about fiscal sponsorship and its responsibilities.)
- Have no outstanding overdue IAC or RPO Final Grant Reports.
- Must be Indiana-based and have an Indiana address within the IAC regional area in which application is made. Nonprofit corporations that are based in another state must be registered in Indiana as a Foreign Corporation, have an IAC regional address, and provide arts activities in that region to be eligible.
Regional Partner Organizations administer funds for two grant programs: Arts Organization Support (AOS) and Arts Project Support (APS):
The Arts Organization Support Program (AOS) provides support for the ongoing artistic and administrative functions of Indiana arts organizations for a full year of services. Operating expenses may include but are not limited to salaries, administrative fees, staff development and training, space and equipment rental, promotion, and production costs, etc., needed to support the organization's yearly activities.
The Arts Project Support Program (APS) provides funding to Indiana arts and "non-arts organizations" to support a distinct aspect of the organization's arts activities, such as a one-time event, a single production, an exhibition, an educational seminar, or series of related arts activities, such as art classes or training sessions.
