Lecture on Crop Circle Mystery
Time: 2:00pm
Museum Lecture:
C R O P C I R C L E M Y S T E R Y
A lecture entitled "Separating the Wheat from the Chaff--Researching Crop Circles" will be presented at the Evansville Museum Sunday, January 6 at 2 p.m. The admission-free presentation will include information regarding the scientific investigation of a crop circle which appeared near Huntingburg, Indiana, in June of 2006.
The program, prepared by Charles Kiesel, resulted from a visit to the southern Indiana site shortly after the appearance of a mysterious flattened circle was reported in a wheat field. Kiesel and his wife Jann collected information about the ensuing investigation, while members of the Independent Crop Circle Researchers' Association team gathered scientific data at the site. The results of that investigation and additional information about what separates authentic crop formations from those that are man-made will be included in the program.
A part-time freelance photojournalist, Kiesel has written about the Huntingburg crop circle for area newspapers and posted information on his web site. He believes there is scientific evidence to support the fact that something unique is happening to create crop formations and that not all are hoaxes.
